Brazilian Waxing FAQs

Have questions about Brazilian waxing? Find answers to common questions about preparing for your Brazilian wax, hair length, discomfort, aftercare, how often to wax, and what to expect at HoneyFace Wax & Skincare in Clemmons, NC.

How long should my hair be before a Brazilian wax?

For the best results, your hair should be approximately 1/4 inch long—about the length of a grain of rice. If you’ve been shaving, while roughly 2-3 weeks of growth before your waxing appointment. Avoid trimming too short before your appointment because the wax needs enough hair to grip effectively.

Does a Brazilian wax hurt?

Waxing involves some temporary discomfort because the hair is being removed from the roof, but most clients find that the anticipation is worse than the actual wax. Your first Brazilian wax may feel more sensitive, and appointments typically become easier with consistent waxing as you learn what to expect.

What should I do before my first Brazilian wax?

Allow your hair to grow approximately 1/4 inch, gently exfoliate the area 24-48 hours before your appointment, and arrive with clean, dry skin. Avoid applying heavy lotions, oils or creams to the area immediately before your wax.

Most importantly, don’t stress! First-time Brazilian clients are welcome at HoneyFace, and I”ll walk you through the process.

How often should I get a Brazilian wax?

Most Brazilian wax clients benefit from scheduling appointments approximately every 4-6 weeks. Staying consistent helps keep your hair on a more predictable growth cycle and can make future appointments easier.

What’s the difference between a bikini wax and a Brazilian wax?

A Bikini Wax removes hair that would normally show outside the edges of a swimsuit or underwear.

A Brazilian Wax removes significantly more hair from the intimate area, including the front, labia, and between the cheeks. You can choose to leave a strip or triangle in the front or remove everything.

Should I shave between Brazilian wax appointments?

No! For the best waxing results, avoid shaving between appointments. Shaving interrupts the hair growth cycle and can make it more difficult to maintain consistent waxing results.

What does a Brazilian Wax include?

A Brazilian wax removes hair front he intimate area, including the front, labia, and between the cheeks. You can choose to remove everything or leave a small strip or triangle in the front or whatever you desire based on your personal preference. At HoneyFace Wax & Skincare, your Brazilian wax is customized to your comfort level and desired results.

How long does a Brazilian wax appointment take?

Brazilian wax appointment times can vary depending on your hair growth, previous hair removal, and whether it’s your first wax. At HoneyFace Wax & Skincare, I specialize in efficient waxing while still taking the time needed to provide a thorough, comfortable service. First-time clients are also walked through the process so you know what to expect from start to finish.

Will my hair grow back differently after Brazilian Waxing?

With consistent Brazilian waxing, many clients notice that their hair may grow back feeling softer or finer over time. Because waxing removes hair from the root rather than cutting it at the skin’s surface like shaving, regrowth can also feel less stubbly. Results vary from person to person based on factors such as individual hair growth cycles and consistency with waxing appointments.

Can I choose to leave some hair during a Brazilian wax?

Yes! A Brazilian wax can be customized to your preference. You can remove all of the hair or choose to leave a strip, triangle, or another small amount of hair in the front or back. Just let me know your preference at the beginning of your appointment, and I’ll customize your Brazilian wax accordingly.
